Healing Exercises To Open Your Karmic Chakra & Release Your Ancestral Baggage

What is a Chakra?

A chakra is a spinning disk or wheel of energy.

In the human body, there are 7 main chakras that run along the spine, each of which holds and carries a specific energy.

There are also additional chakras, as many as 114 minor chakras spread over the rest of the body.

The 7 main chakras are believed to relate to different glands within the physical body, as well as to energetic impulses, strengths, and weaknesses.

Mention of Chakras can be found in the ancient Vedic Texts, dating from 1500 BC. Yet more recently, the concept of chakras has entered mainstream spirituality in the West too.

The seven main chakras are listed below in descending order. It’s important to understand that they’re all equally important.

Where a chakra is located on the body, has nothing to do with its value.

What’s the Difference Between a Healthy Chakra and an Imbalanced Chakra?

When a chakra is open and operating optimally, it’s spinning with ease. This allows it to receive information from outside, and transmit information from within, through the physical, emotional and mental bodies, and beyond into a person’s auric field.

Quite simply, this feels good! We progress on our life paths and work through the challenges we face with grace. When our chakras are balanced, we’re functioning healthily.

Yet, it’s not uncommon for chakras to be out of balance (over, or under active), or worse still, blocked. When this occurs, an individual will experience negativity – in the form of fearful or destructive thoughts, difficulty learning of holding focus, depression or anxiety, or any host of other emotional and physical disorders. Long term chakra imbalances can also result in chronic physical illness.

Symptoms of an imbalanced or blocked Karmic Chakra

Because this karmic energy centre sits beyond the human body, it’s not directly connected to any of the glands. So an imbalance won’t necessarily manifest physically. Symptoms of a blockage are more likely to be subtle and difficult to pinpoint.

Occasionally, a karmic chakra may be overactive, but this is much less common than one that’s under active.

Signs of an Overactive Karmic Chakra (can be similar to Soul Star)

  • Spiritual bypassing

  • Heart, mind, and spirit not integrated

  • Daydreaming or getting lost in thought

  • Obsessed with spirituality, but not truly spiritual

  • Gets lost in the idea of past lives

  • Escapist tendencies

Signs of an Under active Karmic Chakra (can be similar to Soul Star)

  • Anxious

  • Overly worried about life in general

  • Ungrounded

  • Overly defensive

  • Can’t learn life lessons

  • Keeps repeating unhealthy patterns

  • Unable to mature

  • Mistrustful of the world

  • Feeling detached

Chakra Healing and Balancing Exercises for the Padaka-Pancak

1. Meditate

Yes, we know you’ve heard it before, but meditation really is incredible for Spiritual development! And this is also true when working to activate the karmic chakra.

Start off with just 5 minutes of meditation practice a day. Focus on your breath, and quieten your mind. Try to be present, and accept yourself in the moment.

2. Dive into Your Karmic Baggage

We know there’s no easy way to do this.

We ALL have karmic baggage that we’re carrying around with us.

It may not be our fault, But it IS our individual responsibility to work through it.

Most humans were put onto this earth to do a certain amount of energetic clearing, and the way you know what this involves for you, is usually related to what triggers you.

Shadow work is a great place to start working with karma, as the two can tie together. SO shadow work can serve as a kind of window into your karmic clearing work.

3. Slow Down

One of the main functions of the karmic chakra is to help with the integration of lessons that we all learn through life. The big lessons. The ones that (once learned) will turn you into an entirely new person, and completely change the course of your journey.

But sometimes, these lessons get missed, because we’re all too busy to see them in action. So pattern repeat, and we keep behaving in the same old ways we always have.

Slowing down can really help with this.

Acting in more considered ways.

Being intentional.

Pondering on the deeper, underlying motives behind events in our lives.

Being present, and fully aware.

This will help you to approach every experience as a potential opportunity to heal.

4. Use Crystals

There are a few specific crystals that are great for balancing and healing the karmic chakra. Place them around your home, and beside your bed when sleeping. You can also try meditating with them. Here are some ideal crystals to work with:

  • Aurolite 32

  • Dumortierite

  • Shungite

  • Celtic quartz.

If you’re working with specific karmic blacks, or healing deep ancestral patterns, consider reaching out to a professional crystal healer.

5. Practice Radical Self-Acceptance

If you lack true self-acceptance, this will seriously limit karmic chakra awakening and healing. Try repeating daily affirmations, as a way to up your level:

  • “I love myself with all my flaws and imperfections, dreams and desires. I am enough, exactly as I am”.

  • “I believe in the person I am becoming”.

  • “I am worthy of love”.

  • “I release any resistance to completely accepting myself”.

Do not confuse self-acceptance with complacency, though. YES you are enough, but you must also do justice to yourself by doing the healing work you are meant to do.
